Senior Project Engineer – Substation Primary

Responsibilities:-

• Preparation & review of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE.
• Substation layouts and section drawings preparation (2D & 3D) for budgetary offers / tenders / projects based on customer specification.
• HV/ MV/LV Cable Engineering including sizing, installation details and calculations.
• Prepare, review, and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement.
• Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering (AIS & GIS).
• Grounding system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
• Lightning protection system design, drawings, and BoM.
• Lighting system design and BoM.
• Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as GIS, circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.
• Providing optimized and customized solutions for various substation tenders (AIS, GIS, Hybrid).
• Use creativity wherever appropriate to provide best solutions for the given situation within the framework of tender Continuously develop standard templates and databases for tender engineering.
• Planning of review meetings with OU, workload for team and OPEX initiatives.
• Vendor Offer Evaluations. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.
• Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings.
• Establishes contacts with suppliers for technical support, to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs. Technical Obtains prototype product and develops technical tests. Ensure the deliveries as per schedule and carry out regular reviews.
• Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation.
• Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications.
• Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage.
• Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort.
• Plan, implement, review, and continuously improvise quality system.
• Coach and develop project engineers / designers to deliver their maximum potential, plan the skill development needs for the engineers.
• Identify, track, clarify & drive project change cases that relate to engineering scope. Support claim preparation (client & supplier). Initiate and drive corrective actions.

Qualification And Experience:-

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8-12 Years of experience in Primary substation design.
• Proficiency in required CAD design tools (AutoCAD, Advance competence in 3D tool (preferred Primtech 3D / AutoCAD REVIT).
• Proficiency in required Engineering calculation tool (CYMGRID / CDEGS, CYMCAP).
• Knowledge of relevant International Standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.
• Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).
• Should possess good communication skills.
