Senior Mechanical Engineer – Pump Specialist

• Have in-depth knowledge in the design of pumps, used in mines, minerals handling and processing plants, infrastructure, oil & gas, Chemical projects.
• Have hands on knowledge on pump sizing and selection, line size and pressure drop calculation, selecting the design pressure and design temperature of the pumping system and components as per codes and standards. Experience to work with AFT Fathom, Fluidflow or similar software will be an advantage.
• Possess thorough understanding of special requirements of pumps in slurry application.
• Be thorough on the various types of pump seals and its selection based on application of the pump.
• Have knowledge on pump protection, interlocks, maintenance requirements and troubleshooting of various types of pumps.
• Have thorough knowledge about the design requirements specified in relevant pump codes of HI, API, ASME, DIN and equivalent.
• Have in-depth knowledge about the pump testing criteria (shop and site) as per codes
• Be conversant with the design of the reputed pump manufacturers and the state of art.
• Coordinate technical aspects during the design phase, including Vendor pre-qualification and Battery limit interface design and coordination
• Prepare / check the complete package scope, specification and data sheets including all relevant package sections
• Obtain a good understanding of the commercial conditions provided by the procurement group
• Prepare the vendor data schedule and requirement section of the specification, in collaboration with the other practices and the project planner.
• Prepare the bid evaluation and technical recommendation.
• Post award, expedite the vendor to ensure the drawings/data is received according to the vendor data schedule.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Full time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited College or University
• Experience between 18 to 25 years
• Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment. Significant previous experience in the management of pump packages and contracts. Prior working experience in design department of reputed pump manufacturers will be advantageous.
• Thorough knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
• Understanding of other discipline interfaces and requirements
• Experience with working on a project in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Good understanding of the flow of information and data within a work-share project environment.
• High understanding of commercial management as it relates to the equipment package or contract.
• A high degree of understanding of construction and commissioning methodologies for the discipline.
• Familiar with operability and maintainability reviews, HAZOP studies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
