Senior Mechanical DVT Engineer

Key Responsibilities:-

• Good Exposure on UL/IEC standards for Electrotechnical products
• Experience in testing to below international standards desirable
  • Inverters UL 1741, Electrical connectors UL 6703, UL 9703, EN 60512, EN 60352; Polymers UL 94, UL 746C;
  • Ingress protection IEC 60529/IPXX/NEMA Enclosure standards
• Good exposure on writing test cases, execution and preparing reports
• Good exposure on thermal testing
• Willing to visit External Labs and test houses to conduct tests as required
• Willing to coordinate with suppliers/vendors for procurement of parts & prototypes
• Good exposure to making mechanical mock-ups, Prototypes, Electro-mechanical assemblies, Cable Assemblies, test sample preparation
• Exposure to maintaining mechanical lab and Equipments
• Knowledge of CAD packages, exposure to SolidWorks will be an added advantage
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of design for manufacture of parts made through injection moulding, sheet metal, stamping, milling/turning
• Creating and maintaining test plans
• Executing tests and collaborating with other team members to speed up testing
• External lab bookings and primary contact for external labs
• Analyse test results and perform preliminary root cause analysis and recommendation for design changes
• Reporting and interpreting test results
• Using the team’s test management system
• Building or sourcing test equipment, fixture design and development
• Exposure to electrical and electronic testing with knowledge on thermocouple instrumenting and connecting to Data logging equipment’s for capturing test data
• Knowledge of DFMEA and DFR would be an added advantage
• Drive lab space safety, regulatory and security processes compliance
• Ability to plan, lead and drive the DVT tasks and activities independently with minimal supervision/oversight

Qualifications: Education, Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour) and Experience:-

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher qualification) in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• 5+ years industry work experience in product development and testing
• Experience using computer-aided development tools (SolidWorks)
• Clear communication, verbal and written
• Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Hands on Experience on testing Electromechanical products for Design Verification
