Senior Manager – Data Management

Purpose of The Role:

Data specialist role to work in collaboration with central IT and business function to devise data driven solutions. This role falls under group Data Management team. The role of the Data Management team is to conceptualize robust and scalable data platform for the enterprise. This team is responsible to define and manage Data Management strategy for the group. It acts as an enabler to various Business, IT and Technology team to devise data driven solutions.

Reporting:

• Functional Reporting –GM/DGM – Data Management
• Administrative Reporting- GM/DGM – Data Management

Key Areas of Accountability:

• Support team leads develop and manage roadmap for end to end data management lifecycle and data governance
• Support team leads define guiding principles, standards, taxonomy etc for the core tenets of data management
• Support internal customers align data strategy with overall business strategy
• Keep up with industry trends and best practices, advising senior management on new and improved data engineering strategies that will drive departmental performance leading to improvement in overall improvement in data governance across the business, promoting informed decision-making, and ultimately improving overall business performance

KEY areas/ factors/ conditions in which incumbent should have experience:

• Client facing skills: Solid experience working with internal/external clients directly, to be able to build trusted relationships with stakeholders
• Work in partnership with different SMEs and develop a mutually beneficial relationship to add value to projects at a business and group level

Qualifications:

• Masters in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduation in Business Administration from a reputed Global or Indian institute
• Bachelors in Engineering from a reputed university

Experience:

• Experience 7+ years in relevant sectors, either in an operating company, or in a top Tier Strategy Consulting firm
• Proven track record in designing/building and deploying cutting edge data solutions
• Experience in Data modeling/ Data engineering and data analysis
• Experience in Data quality solutions and Profiling tools
• Experience in Data visualization/Data Analytics/Data Science tools
• Expertise in minimum three of core tenets of enterprise data management. Examples: data warehousing, big data, data modeling, data engineering, business intelligence (BI), data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, MDM, data standards, regulatory compliance and enterprise architecture frameworks
• Good understanding of Big data ecosystems and frameworks
• Experience in developing data processing task
• Expertise in at least one popular cloud provider (GCP) is a plus.
• Good knowledge of any RDBMS/NoSQL database with strong SQL writing skills
• Experience with any one ETL tool is a plus
• Experience in the use of multi-dimensional data, data curation processes, and the measurement/improvement of data quality.
• General knowledge of business processes, data flows and quantitative models that generate or consume data
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithm, object-oriented design, and design patterns
