Senior Engineer – Verification & Validation Engr

The candidate will be responsible for the post-silicon validation of next generation CAN subsystems and other communication interfaces & sub-systems in Automotive [ATV] Microcontrollers. He / She will contribute to the validation strategy, validation concept, development and application of ingredients such as, but not limited to, hardware, validation plans, testcases, applications/use-cases, debugs and automation for Post-Si validation [PSV] of Microcontrollers for MC D organization within ATV, with a good understanding of the validation infrastructure in terms of test instruments, tools and automation framework

Technical Contributor for Project Delivery:-

• Own and drive validation strategy, validation concept and functional validation of next generation CAN subsystem (CAN, CAN-FD, CAN-XL) along with its interactions with other interfaces and IP Modules (e.g., other high and low speed interfaces like ethernet, DMA, Interrupts, reset, clocking etc.,) for sub-system and system level validation of Automotive Microcontrollers
• Responsible and accountable for own deliverables on-time & with quality
• Closely work with Project Management [PJM], Management and Technical community to align on Post-silicon Validation activities
• Work with Application & Concept Engineers, IP designers, Verification, Validation and Software teams to collect requirements on validation, prepare the validation strategy and plan, review it with stakeholders and release the final Validation plan to stakeholders
• Own and drive Silicon validation strategy/concept using functional, use cases/applications and requirements-based validation methodologies and test instruments.
• Drive pre-silicon verification/validation using the emulation/simulation/FPGA based environments and coming up with improvements wherever possible
• Conceive and develop validation infrastructure & testcases to effectively validate and deliver quality product
• Prepare the Validation reports, review it with stakeholders and release the final Validation reports to stakeholders
• Ownership in reviews – code, design, validation plans / reports etc.,
• Support technical debug of customer issues by working closely with the required stakeholders & provide technical solutions

• Develop harmonious relationship within local and cross-site stakeholders i.e. Management, PJM, Concept, Design, Application, Software, Verification and Validation Engineering teams.
• Be a positive team player by regularly sharing information, supporting, collaborating and working effectively with team members
• Become the owner of one or more SoC functional areas in Bangalore and expand to influence across MC D organization with positive impact
• Meet or exceed customer expectations with respect to assigned goals for Validation

Innovation:-

• Contribute to Innovation activities in MC D organization
• Contribute to continuous improvement process for development of methodologies, and tools/environment for high quality SoC validation within the scope of time, cost and resources

Qualification And Experience:-

• Must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 5-10 years of experience in the industry with relevant experience in the area of SoC / Microprocessor / Microcontroller verification, validation and customer support
• Exposure to development of validation strategy/concept and end-end validation of CAN subsystem (CAN, CAN-FD, CAN-XL) using timers, DMA, interrupts etc and interactions with other interfaces like ethernet and other communication interfaces, is a must
• Experience in silicon validation using functional, usecases/applications and requirement-based validation methodologies
• Familiarity with Pre-Si verification methodology, Post-Si validation concepts, test plans, post-Si validation environment, validation test case writing & debug with the required instruments, tools and environment
• Experience in C, assembly, Perl / Python / Shell scripting is a must
• Working knowledge of UNIX, Windows and embedded operating system
• Working knowledge on FPGA based validation, emulation / simulation / Perspec would be an added advantage
• Experience in using lab equipments such as Oscilloscopes, Protocol Analyzers/Exercisers, Power benches, Mid-bus Probes, Logic Analyzers, debuggers such as PLS, Lauterbach etc. is mandatory
• Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good team player experienced in working with cross-site and cross-functional teams
• Technical abilities demonstrated through Ideas conceived & deployed
• Works effectively with engineers and stakeholders from the requirement phase till product delivery to customers
• Serves as focal point for the technical areas owned

• Innovative mindset and contributing to process improvements where applicable and gaining domain expertise to be able to independently validate one or more areas of SoC
