Job Description

The Energy Modeler will be responsible for performing energy and thermal models related to LEED Certification, BREEAM Certification, Code Compliance, HVAC systems design, conducting simulation and optimization tasks, and providing recommendations for energy efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability. The Energy Modeler will provide expert advice and guidance on building energy modeling and simulation for buildings and infrastructure projects.

Role accountabilities:-

  • Conducting Building performance and passive design analysis. This includes developing detailed energy models and thermal comfort models using IESVE software, assessing the energy efficiency of building designs, and recommending ways to improve their energy performance.
  • Producing PART L & EPC reports, Thermal Comfort Reports, daylight analysis, LEED Minimum Energy Performance Calculator, etc.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Supporting proposal efforts for energy modeling projects.
  • Participating in building energy modeling-related research and development activities, to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Bespoke sustainability services.

Qualifications & Experience:-

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in building energy modeling and simulation.
  • BEMP, CEM, or Equivalent credentials is recommended.
  • Certified in LEED AP (BD+C or ID+C) with LEED v4 experience.
  • Proven experience within a similar role dealing with Sustainability strategies, Energy strategies, IES, Energy modelling and assessment.
  • Capability of coding using python is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building energy codes and standards.
  • Strong technical skills and experience using IESVE, Rhino and Ladybug Tools are must. Knowledge of using other software such as Energyplus, or eQuest is plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
