Senior Chemical Precipitative Systems Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:-

• Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley’, its customers’ and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
• Initiate, manage and if required supervise mechanical engineering project requirements.
• Perform mechanical engineering services such as:
  • participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
  • ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
  • provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
• If required, act as the mechanical engineering Lead on specific projects.
• If responsible for a team:
  • outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress;and
  • ensure the required services meet Worley,its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
• Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer’s requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.
• If required, assist and support junior personnel within the mechanical engineering team.
• Communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

Requirement:-

• Candidate should have a strong background in in precipitative processes, especially solids/liquid separation, drying process, detail engineering/EPC.
• Direct project detail engineering execution (IFC deliverable), commissioning and/or operations experience on full scale commercial facilities.
• Must have direct experience in managing team of mechanical engineers on a large project
• Must have direct experience in sizing equipment – Chemical reactor, Thickener, Clarifier, Centrifuge, Filter, Dryer, pumps, valves, and key component of liquid/solids handling facility.
• Fully versed with design philosophies, redundancy and availability calculations
• Ideal candidates will have experience in and be champions for data-centric design and project delivery methods.
• Proficient in materials selection for harsh environments and facilities.
• Proficient in reports writing and data sheet, requisitions, specifications preparation and review
• Proficient in equipment selection and knowledgeable about standards and key vendors
• Proficient in vendor offer evaluation with bid tab preparation, vendor document review & approval
• Attend Constructability review, Design review, HAZOP/LOPA,3D model review
• Flexible to adapt working hours to different time zones.
• Fully familiarized with International Codes and Standards.
• Able to estimate Mechanical engineering estimates @ +/-5% accuracy.
• Organize resources, budget and time as per scope
• Organize overall mechanical engineering execution

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:-

• B.E / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering Degree from recognised University
• 14+ years of Experience in this role

Required:-

• A recognised and relevant engineering degree.

Preferred:-

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.

Technical and Industry Experience:-

• Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
• A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
• A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Competent use of mechanical engineering specific software.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• Substantial technical land practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
