Job Description

Currently we are looking for a Safety Process Engineer in New Dehli, India to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Safety Process Engineer you will be responsibility broadly for the technical safety aspects of Hydrogen and Ammonia production from renewable energy. Project development support ranging from Pre-Feasibility, FEED, Detail Engineering, Execution and Operation. To take ownership and responsibility to ensure all safety, technical/contractual requirements are considered and implemented enabling the successful completion of the projects.

Main responsibilities

  • To manage, coordinate and contribute to tasks and activities towards delivering a technical compliant project.
  • To take ownership and responsibility to ensure all technical/contractual requirements are considered and implemented enabling the successful completion of the projects.
  • To support the development of projects through technical assessments/investigations, due diligence studies and designs by engaging the various business units and relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience and understanding of process engineering deliverables such as P&ID’s, safety relief demand scenarios, and basic function of unit operations is required. Ability to review P&IDs from a safety perspective and provide comments to the EPC contractor.
  • Experience in safety monitoring equipment, instrumentation, process control, and HVAC. Experience in understanding logic and interlocks with respect to various systems
  • Knowledge about various process equipment, Utility equipment like Compressor, Chiller, steam systems, etc, its operation and expected hazards during operation
  • Support to projects in delivery/execution
  • Ensure FEED and detailed engineering is implemented from the conceptual/basic design stage
  • Review and approve design change request or proposals in the event of deviations
  • Assist in establishing and evaluating quality expectations and documentation during construction

Qualifications and competencies:-

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (or Equivalent)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Should be able to handle and manage various stakeholders in the project
  • Proficiency in English to a very good working level
  • Over 8 years’ experience as Process Safety Engineer or Loss Prevention Engineer
  • Ability to draft and review fire circles and zones on layout, Process Safety Design, HSE philosophies, Fire Water P&IDs, Packages, Interlock Description, Cause & Effect Diagram, Fire and Gas mapping / design
  • Ability to create and review specifications and scopes of work
  • Ability to evaluate supplier equipment offerings for technical compliance.
  • Shall be proficient in excel, AutoCAD and other discipline specific process design tools.
  • Should have good working experience with software like PHAWorks, PHAPro, PHAST, Shell FRED etc.
