Job Description

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Research

  • Contribute to mapping and estimating the green jobs across the entire value chain in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, biomass, bio-CNG etc.) by
    • Conducting primary surveys of private sector players (in-person or virtual) with support from senior colleagues
    • Analyse the data obtained for accuracy, inconsistencies, gaps etc. to develop the employment coefficients for different sectors
    • Identify the trends and conduct stakeholder discussion to understand the underlying reasons
  • Contribute to responsible deployment and expansion of renewable energy capacity by working in close coordination with various stakeholders. This would involve understanding and developing solutions for mitigating land conflicts, common resource utilisation, community participation in decision making etc. by
    • Conducting Literature Review
    • Identifying the key stakeholders to engage for data collection and dissemination and
    • Performing necessary analysis
  • Travel to states, whenever necessary, to conduct meetings or collect primary information.
  • To write briefs and issue notes which could be circulated among the state and central government officials and other stakeholders.

Qualification And Experience:-

Education and key skills:-

  • Strong academic credentials, preferably a Master’s degree with developmental studies, political science, environment or public policy
  • Good understanding of various Indian policies and regulations around renewable energy, land, agriculture etc.
  • Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with research methods in the applicable fields.
  • Experience with impact assessment frameworks and systematic approaches such as cost-benefit analysis.
  • Experience in conducting primary surveys with relevant stakeholders preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in word-processing, presentation and data analysis tools

  • Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic and fluid environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative and communicate effectively as a team member
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple research projects at the same time
  • Willingness to show initiative and lead in order to handle unforeseen challenges
  • Ability to design new intervention and execute effectively
