Job Description

Job duties and accountabilities:-

Desirable Outcomes (first year) for Research Analyst:-

  • Actively work with the team to build a spatial analysis tool for low-impact siting of power infrastructure.
  • Take up at least one institutional responsibility or actively work on one institutional initiative.
  • Build and maintain strategic networks across key government ministries and regulatory bodies to advance solid waste management.

Desirable Outcomes (first year) for Programme Associate:-

  • Lead the design and implementation of a spatial analysis tool for low-impact siting of power infrastructure in one shortlisted state.
  • Socialise the analyses with at least one central ministry and build relationship on the thematic.
  • Take up at least one institutional responsibility or actively work on one institutional initiative.

Research:-

  • Support/Lead execution of the allocated project(s) with highest research quality and professional ethics. This includes, but not limited to.
    • conducting literature review and engaging with key stakeholders to understand the research objective,
    • reviewing available data and collecting data from primary sources, if needed,
    • performing necessary analysis (technical and analytical) using relevant tools
    • developing outputs such as research memos, explainers, reports etc. that can be circulated among key stakeholders
    • developing and implementing an outreach strategy for research dissemination, and assessing the impact created.
  • Travel to states, whenever necessary, to conduct meetings and/or collect evidence or primary data.
  • Track the day-to-day regulatory, policy and market changes in the RE sector ∙ Contribute actively/Design strategic outreach on the research outputs through engagement with a broader network of policymakers, industry and other stakeholders.

Programme Assistance:-

  • Support/Lead the team in development of overall programme strategy and its effective implementation.
  • Support/Lead in establishing, managing and promoting relationship with existing and potential partners.
  • Assist the team in preparing applications for research and general donor funding.

Education and Key skills:-

Qualifications:-

  • Strong academic credentials, preferably a Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, or a related field.

Work experience:-

  • At least 0-1 for Research Analyst and 4-5 year for Programme Associate of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools and/or spatial analysis.
  • Designing and conducting stakeholder consultations with RE companies and policymakers (state energy departments, central ministries).

Key skills:-

  • Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with research methods in the applicable fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: word-processing, presentation, and data analysis.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality written content for different mediums.
