Job Description

The Regional Energy Manager – (SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC & PSC) should be self-driven to take initiatives and work independently under the guidance of the Power Market  Specialist, SAREP for implementation of activities related to The Regional Energy Manager – (SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC & PSC).

Responsibilities:-

The job description of The Regional Energy Manager – (SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC & PSC ) shall include the following :

  • Provide cross cutting research, analysis, management  and program support with respect to the SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC & PSC.
  • Assist in the activity implementation including associated technical and meeting/workshop/event related work and coordination of SAFIR related activities such as SAFIR working group on “Regulatory Cooperation to Facilitate Knowledge sharing, addressing Cross cutting Energy/Electricity Regulatory Issues and Capacity Building in South Asia ”, SAFIR Joint Working group “To study, formulate and recommend for facilitating Power trade development in South Asia” and SAFIR Annual Conference.
  • Assist in the activity implementation including associated technical and meeting/workshop/event related  coordination of Regional Parliamentary Forum  on Energy Cooperation & Energy Trade in South Asia
  • Assist in the activity implementation including associated technical and meeting/workshop/event related work and coordination for third phase of Think Tank Forum design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Assist in the activity implementation including associated technical and meeting/workshop/event related work and coordination for the technical assistance to BIMSTEC Energy Center  and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
  • To review, analyse and coordinate specific expert research/technical  studies related to SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC. Render technical assistance to SA countries as required in relation to completion of the activities/studies and  co-ordination with consultants/subcontractors.
  • To prepare agenda, agenda notes, presentations, briefs, minutes of the meetings, drafting letters for various purposes and shall act on based on the outcomes of the various meetings with respect to the  SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC.
  • Prepare various technical articles, reports, blogs  based on the activities/outcome of the activities and the technical subjects being covered with respect to the SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC related work.
  • Prepare Terms of Reference for various studies/Scope of work for implementation of the  activities related to SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC.
  • Conducting through review of technical products, study report etc. being developed under the technical assistance activities related to the SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BIMSTEC, SAARC
  • Responsible for networking and building relationship with all key stakeholders and supporting the Power Market Specialist in implementing activities related to SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BEC, SAARC and to do outreach and necessary correspondence required for the activities in consultation with Power Market Specialist.
  • Provide Technical and programmatic assistance and support to Program Steering Committee (PSC) on Accelerating Regional Energy Integration and organising and conducting annual PSC meeting.
  • Provide technical inputs for assessing the needs of key stakeholders and undertaking and delivering the training and capacity building program with respect to SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BEC, SAARC.
  • Developing work and activity plan related SAFIR, RPF, Think Tank Forum, BEC, SAARC.
  • Any other work assigned as per the need and demand of the program

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • B. Tech in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/energy/Power system preferably with MTech from reputed institutions.
  • 7-8 years of relevant power industry experience such as  working with SAFIR, BIMSTEC and experience working with think tank.
  • Knowledge of south Asian/BIMSTEC energy sector, cross border electricity trade in South Asia
  • Proficiency in handling Microsoft Office (word, excel , power point)
  • Demonstrative knowledge of region power/energy sector in South Asia/BIMSTEC.
  • Dynamism to work in a fast-paced, high-change environment, Analytical approach to problem-solving, good communication skills, Team player having demonstrated initiative.
  • Report writing, article, blog writing skills, research, and analysis skills.
