Regional Energy Analyst

Responsibilities

The job description of the Regional Energy Analyst shall include the following:

• Provide cross cutting research, analysis, coordination, management and program support with respect to the support with respect to SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• Assist in the activity implementation including associated technical and meeting/workshop/event related work and coordination of activities related to SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• To review, analyze and coordinate specific expert research/technical studies related to SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS. Render technical assistance to SA countries as required in relation to completion of the activities/studies and co-ordination with consultants/subcontractors.
• To prepare agenda, agenda notes, presentations, briefs, minutes of the meetings, drafting letters for various purposes and shall act based on the outcomes of the various meetings with respect to the SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• Prepare various technical articles, reports, blogs based on the activities/outcome of the activities and the technical subjects being covered with respect to the SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS related work.
• Prepare Terms of Reference for various studies. Scope of work for implementation of the activities related to SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• Responsible for networking and building relationship with all key stakeholders and supporting the Power Market Specialist in implementing activities related to SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS and to do outreach and necessary correspondence required for the activities in consultation with Power Market Specialist.
• Provide dedicated Technical and programmatic assistance and support and acts as manager for SAREP Task forces including organizing and conducting the meeting of SAREP Task Forces  i.e., SAREP Task Force-1 on “Coordination of Policies, Legal and Regulatory Frameworks for Cross Border Electricity Trade”, b) SAREP Task Force-2 on “Enhancement of Transmission System Interconnections for Cross Border Electricity Trade” and c) SAREP Task Force-3 on “South Asia Regional Power Market for Market-Based Electricity Trade” to achieve the objective of task forces.
• To provide technical inputs for assessing the needs of key stakeholders and undertaking and delivering the training and capacity building program with respect to the SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• Developing work and activity plan related SAFEI, SAED, SAFSO, SAFTU, SAREP Task Force & SAGE-RIS.
• Any other work assigned as per the need and demand of the program.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Energy/Power System or another degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in an forementioned degree and 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of south Asian energy sector, cross border electricity trade in South Asia, work experience in the organization such as National chamber of commerce of South Asian countries, investment bodies, regional institutions in dealing international subjects.
• Proficiency in handling Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point)
• Demonstrative knowledge of region power/energy sector in South Asia
• Dynamism to work in a fast-paced, high-change environment, Analytical approach to problem-solving, good communication skills, Team player having demonstrated initiative.
• Report writing, article, blog writing skills, research, and analysis skills.
