R&D Sustainability Engineer

You will be working as R&D Sustainability Engineer and will be part of Electrification business Area for Distribution Solutions division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to the R&D Team Lead. In this role you will be responsible to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP) by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. You will also act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D)/software development/product engineering for specific product-related issues and maintenance.

Responsibilities:-

• Perform environmental lifecycle assessment (LCA) studies for Products
• Analysis of manufacturing process data and ABB designed parts to develop life cycle inventories
• Interact with business functions and tools & systems for LCA / Sustainability activities involving products, bills of materials, purchased parts and suppliers
• Interpret Sustainability results with regards to their business relevance and devise actions, present findings to stakeholders
• Support Customer LCA/Sustainability enquiries
• Responsible for generating LCA reports in line with ISO 14000 standards and vaulting, management, and control of environmental foot-print data
• Support LCA/Sustainability assessments for NPI launches and lead sustainability assessments on legacy products and materials used in the business

Qualifications and Experience:-

• Bachelors in Engineering / Bachelors in Technology/ Masters in Technology in Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental engineering
• Minimum of 6 years of experience with lifecycle assessment modeling and sustainability tools
• Strong understanding of Product Life Cycle Stages – In-depth understanding of LCA Program.
• Sustainability tool knowledge is added advantage. Passionate about sustainability, high level of customer focus and an innovative as well as solution-oriented working style
• Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and drive to continuously improve work practices
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels within and across the organization
• Ability to think strategically and critically analyze details. Proactive to find out actions needed for continuous improvement.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in cross-functional collaboration and facilitation.
