Project Manager – Engineering

Manage projects with integrity management and engineering scopes. Ensure that project goals or objectives are safely accomplished with required quality and within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Support organization in establishing project management related short/long term goals, own and achieve some of such goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:-

Functions:-

Essential (Projects):-

• Manage engineering services projects to deliver projects scope successfully with right quality, within schedule and cost constraints
• Responsible for all initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closeout activities on projects assigned
• Lead the engineering team, with team members working from various global locations, through various project phases
• Carry out make-buy assessments as and when needed, establish subcontractors needed to deliver subcontracted part pf project scope, drive any such subcontractors to ensure overall project success
• Plan and manage communications with all internal as well as external stakeholders, drive internal/external project reviews
• Prepare project reports, forecast, variance explanations and other technical and financial reports for internal / external stakeholders
• Project documentation control and management
• Responsible for timely invoicing to customer and achieving project revenue objectives
• Monitor / track changes and follow relevant change management process

Essential(Others):-

• Support submission of effective proposals, provide project management related inputs during proposal stage
• Improve / create project management processes
• Train / coach other team members to ensure project management processes are effectively implemented across the board
• Mentor junior project management professionals, supporting successful delivery of their assignments
• Collaborate with functional managers on project specific as well as strategic resource management
• Support functional managers with feedback on project team members’ performance, assist with performance reviews
• Contribute to setting up project management related short/long term objectives, work towards achieving any such goals assigned
• Travel domestically and overseas as needed

Non Essential:-

• Assist with any other duties as and when required
• Undertake specific assignments as instructed by management
• Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals
• Comply to organizational HR, Quality and HSE policies and procedures

Qualifications And Experiences:-

Required:-

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred in Mechanical or allied branch)
• Minimum industrial experience of 10 years, out of which minimum 4 years of relevant project management experience
• Experience in managing complex engineering projects
• Working knowledge of Project Management aids/applications as well as basic Microsoft applications

Desired:-

• Project Management qualification / certification

• Ability to communicate / work with / lead multi-cultural team of technicians and engineers on projects
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Intermediate or Expert level knowledge on project management or scheduling software (e.g. Primavera, MS Project etc.), experience in using them on project(s)
• Continuous improvement mindset.
