Project Management Specialist – Electrical Commissioning

Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result. Technical side, testing of protection relays, Testing and commissioning Hydro generators, excitation system and Gen Auxiliaries.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

• Testing commissioning of Protection Relays, testing commissioning of Generator, its Auxiliaries, Transformers and excitation system.
• Knowledge of cable laying and other erection activities will have added advantage.
• Site activities related to testing and validation of electrical components and systems of the equipment in a plant or facility in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use. This includes operational testing and performance tests.
• Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
• Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
• Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
• Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications:-

• For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Project Management & Electrical Commissioning. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
• For roles in USA – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
