Project Engineer_Lifecycle Services

This is a Project Engineer – Servicerole at a Global Grade reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in Business Area – India Operations Centre, Process Automation (INOPC PA) based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible to Design and execute DCS engineering activities in service projects with low to medium complexity, according to Standard work instructions, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver quality customer service to satisfy customers.

Responsibilities:-

• Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform Engineering assignments in projects.
• Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of service engineering projects/programs.
• Identify customer (internal or external) requirements, analyze and document as-is process and process interfaces, discover process gaps, design to-be integration in collaboration with business resources.
• Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.
• Complete risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility.
• Provides technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with business teams to deliver solutions within timeline.
• Assist customer on technical issues, interacts with official contracts.
• Propose continuous improvement ideas, simplification, and consolidation strategies.
• Interact with various stakeholders understand the customer demands, update self with latest trends and technologies used in process automation domain.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s Degree – Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & communications
• Minimum 4-8 years of hands-on Process /Safety System Experience in Hardware & Application Engineering, 3rd party Communication, FAT and SAT for Process Automation in any of the domains like Oil & Gas/ Refineries /Petrochemicals/Power and Water.
• Experience on DCS Systems -Retrofits, Upgrades, Service and Commissioning.
• Good Knowledge on Process /ICSS and Safety Systems (Fire & Gas Protection Systems / Emergency Shutdown Systems)
• Knowledge on IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards
• Knowledge on Brownfield scope of work – Modifications, Retrofits, Upgrades
• Knowledge on HMI, Hardware, Application Engineering, System configurations
• Knowledge on UNIX, Windows, .NET
• Knowledge on Third party Communication like MODBUS,OPC..etc
• Knowledge in the system installation, integration of servers and client computers in virtual environment, windows Administration.
• Experience in Virtualization concepts, ESXi Setup, Raid configuration and VMware Configuration.
• Working knowledge on Managed switches, Routers and Firewalls.
• Knowledge in designing System and Network Hardening and develop basic Cyber security designs.
• Working knowledge on Domain configuration and Active directory configuration for larger systems includes defining group policies.
• Experience in any ABB systems like 800xA, Symphony Plus, MOD300, Advant etc, will be added advantage.
