Project Development Manager

As our Project Development Manager you will be responsible for managing the development and structuring of renewable energy projects in India from early opportunity through the development cycle to financial close. Your ability to structure and negotiate complex transactions, to lead coordination of external and internal development processes, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams we be key to successfully lead projects up to start of construction.

Main responsibilities:-

• Lead the development and structuring of renewable energy projects in India, which may include solar PV, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage system projects, and which may be developed by Scatec alone or in partnership with others.
• Lead coordination of all internal and external project development and project structuring workstreams, including securing land, obtaining required local permits and approvals, securing interconnection rights, negotiating power purchase agreements or other off take agreements, establishing EPC and O&M agreements, as well as securing project equity and debt financing.
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary project development teams, often numbering 10-20 individuals across different locations and including internal resources, consultants, and development subcontractors.
• Lead negotiations for project acquisition and/or partnership agreements and manage the acquisition/transaction process, assuming responsibility for managing external relationships. Coordinate input from all disciplines with respect to due diligence, business case development, assessment of risk and corresponding mitigation strategies, and preparation of internal presentations and investment memos.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Significant experience leading the development, management and structuring of renewable energy projects in India from opportunity phase up to financial close and start of construction.
• Expert project management skills, with capacity to develop clear plans and track record of coordinating multidisciplinary project teams of internal and external experts (e.g. across development, legal, engineering, project finance, supply chain, environmental and social, compliance and other functions) to deliver them.
• Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, permitting requirements, project financing and terms and conditions for key project contracts (e.g. engineering, procurement and construction; asset management; operations and maintenance; project financing; governance agreements).
• Experience leading negotiations with external counter parties and closing complex transactions.
• Engineering, Technical or other relevant degrees. MBA or Master’s degree an advantage but not required.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
