Production Engineer

The Production Engineer will be responsible for the support of existing and new product lines for Universal Analysers. Design/manufacturability engineering, cost out initiatives, part and supplier change management, new supplier development, validation testing and documentation control are the core directives for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Read and Understand Blueprint Layouts and Communication standards.
• Implement redlines from Engineering and to self-check work.
• Support sheet metal design, selection of Mechanical fixings, O-Rings, Seals.
• Strong background in drawing creation to make views, sections, details to make drawings clearer than the original mark-ups.
• Use photos, spread sheets and other non-drawing forms of communication and to translate into a complete drawing.
• Drawing release via the ECO process.  Understanding the ECO process and the impact the changes have on all related departments.
• Multi-level BOM development.
• Create Spare parts and Consumables list for custom products.
• Complete Project drawings with limited supervision and able to follow standards.
• Awareness of CAD File Management Techniques.
• Fluent in global design practices, 1st angle projection, 3rd angle projection, ISO, ANSI, and global standard units.

The following additional skills are desirable:-

• Ability to understand Design and identify inconsistencies
• Ability to Automate Drawing process and Quality check process.
• Able to use information for purchased parts and add notes, call outs in the Drawings for production.
• Create wiring representation in CAD Models and create wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge on calculating Stresses and thermal Gradients using available tools.
• Write concise test reports that will be shared with suppliers and customers.
• DFM practices and principles.
• Familiarity with NEC, CSA, IECEx and ATEX Hazardous area requirements.

Position Requirements:-

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Strong background in use of Solid Edge. Other CAD Platforms are also encouraged, But the primary CAD software to be used will be Solid Edge.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Outlook.
• Able to create and modify Adobe (.pdf) files.
• Maintain a professional relationship with Engineers.
• Work effectively with cross-cultural teams, including our US-based team.
