Principal ASIC design engineer

As a senior member in our Wi-Fi Connectivity MAC design team, the candidate would be responsible for overseeing development of one of our major subsystems. Duties include but not limited to architecture definition, design partitioning, low power optimization, design tradeoff analysis and providing implementation guidance to other team members as well as supporting critical customer issues. Candidate will face challenging architecture and digital design work including IP integration into SOCs, and will play a key role in NXP Wi-Fi product development but will acquire working knowledge with latest fast growing Wi-Fi standards to become a Wi-Fi MAC expert. The candidate will also learn interface to SW teams as well as Wi-Fi baseband IP.

Qualifications And Experience:-

MSEE with 6+ years of industrial ASIC digital design experience with working knowledge in following areas preferred:

• Digital design with IEEE standard based networking products, preferred in MAC area.
• Proven track record of delivering complicated digital sub-system design.
• Strong micro-architecture and digital design skill using Verilog.
• Experience on verification of MAC digital design a plus

Familiar with following common digital design tools:-

• Verilog design tools (Synopsys VCS, Verdi or similar)
• Synthesis tools (Synopsys Design Compiler)
• Lint, CDC tools (Synopsys Spyglass or similar)
• Static Timing Analysis tools (Synopsys PrimeTime)
• Power estimation tools (Synopsys PTPX, Spyglass, Cadence Joule or similar)
• Hardware validation tool (Palladium, FPGA etc.)
• Handy with common scripts (shell, Perl etc.)
• Handy with laboratory debug tools on chip support (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope)
• Experience on verification of digital design using system Verilog, UVM methodology a plus.
• Experience in SOC integration is a plus.
