Power Electronics Firmware Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Provide TI C2000 Firmware for power electronics circuits.
• Modify existing code.
• Modify existing, or provide new MATLAB Embedded Coder Firmware.
• Support other power electronics team members with providing test Firmware, as needed.
• Integrate Firmware with power electronics hardware.
• Get involved, and contribute to power electronics circuits design, as needed.
• Test and validate Firmware, as needed.
• Provide professional reports.

Preferred Qualifications:-

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with focus on power electronics.
• High power/ high voltage experience.
• MATLAB/Simulink embedded coder skills.
• Understanding Parallel Operation, ‘N+1’ UPS, and modular design.
• Validation and verification experience.
• Understanding of communication protocols related to a UPS.
• Experience in military related power application is a big plus.

Minimum Requirements:-

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, with focus/experience on power electronics.
• Experience and knowledge of Power Electronics, controls, and different kinds of power converters
• Power electronics Firmware development, and integration skills (preferably TI C2000 family)
• MATLAB/Simulink modeling, simulations, and analysis skills.
• Analyze, debug, and modify existing code.
• Work either independently, or part of the team.
• Having working knowledge of on-line dual conversion UPSs.
• Familiar with various control loop designs (e.g. PI, PID, Feed forward etc).
• Work closely with hardware and test engineers
• Ability to do ‘software in the loop’ development to realize rapid prototyping for new designs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Can read and understand schematics.
• Global teamwork experience.
• Develop documentation and test plans for software
• Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency in distilling date and generating test reports and presentations.
