MEP Assistant (Engineer)

Responsibilities:-

• Undertaking review, and finalization of shop drawings in coordination with MEP/services consultants and project architect.
• Ensuring that the materials are checked for quality and quantity respectively as per QC/QA procedures, control the quality and technical correctness of the installation in accordance with the project quality assurance plan and specification by maintaining method statements, regular checklist, etc.
• Conducting discussions with the MEP/services contractors for adherence to schedules and thus monitor progress on the project through daily inspections.
• Inspecting of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire-fighting equipment installations and fittings on a daily basis.
• Managing complete testing of all equipment and service across all areas of the project site.
• Undertaking the execution of MEP activities such as HVAC, electrical drainage, water supply, firefighting, etc.
• Developing and maintaining the checklist for MEP/services.
• Maintaining the daily progress report of all the MEP/services activities across various areas.
• Ensuring all technical aspects of the projects are strictly complied with and in conformity with conditions of the contract, particular specifications, general specifications, contract drawings and BOQ.
• Examining the project and staff to ensure that projects are progressing according to established procedures and cost, time and quality objectives.
• Interfacing with project designers and contractors to coordinate the design intent with construction delivery.
• Ensuring contractor’s compliance with quality assurance and health and safety program procedures as outlined in the contract.
• Coordinating with consultant, main contractor, MEP contractors and other sub-contractors at the site.
• Attending regular meetings on work progress, coordination, design, etc. with the consultant, contractor, and main contractor to discuss key issues related to the project and take effective corrective actions.
• Implementing testing, commissioning plan for MEP system and final handing over of systems to facility team.
• Ensuring that the works are undertaken in a safe manner as per the project-specific safety plan.
• Being accountable for the MEP delivery on the projects from design to commissioning and handover.

Qualification and Experience:-

• You will have a degree qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering and be a member of a professional body. You have experience for a project of similar nature.
• You are digitally savvy and can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams. You have previous working experience on construction projects and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
