Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced Energy Storage & Optimization team in India. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design mechanical products and features to be used for energy storage. You will provide the necessary support to ensure products and systems are delivered to specification.The ideal candidate has 10+ years of engineering experience and product development and will also have experience with energy storage system.

Responsibilities:-

• Design mechanical enclosures/containers, racks, parts, and/or features intended to be used in the energy storage industry
• Design mechanical features of battery module packs
• Collaborate with the larger team to optimise design for thermal management and fire safety
• Perform FEA and CFD simulations and analysis for a wide range of form factors and environments
• Develop and document test procedures, assembly and installation instructions, and other document and system documentation
• Collaborate in a team environment and/or take charge of opportunities to develop optimal solutions for customers and development programs
• Evaluate new technologies, suppliers, and system/sub-system components
• Specify, evaluate suppliers, and collaborate to develop fire suppression systems
• Direct and evaluate day to day activities of 3rd party design and engineering contractors
• Support manufacturing and system deployment activities by collaborating to resolve issues and ensure products and systems are delivered to specification

Requirements:-

• Min 5+ years of product development and mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Autocad
• Experience with energy storage systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and techniques (forming, machining, welding and inspection/testing) used in the manufacture of fabricated metal parts a plus
• Knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics
• Solving customer’s needs and issues
• Knowledge of energy storage certifications and compliances
• Familiarity with NEMA and IP enclosure design and testing
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, vendors, shop and office in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player attitude internally and externally
• Entrepreneurial drive with hunter mind-set
• Willing to travel 25% of the time
