LIPE NPD Engineer

• Performs design and development activities of Medium voltage products like Switches, Fuses, cutouts, Overhead circuit protection to meet customer requirement, cost target and market related technology
• Interact with global cross functional teams to perform design and cost out activities for LIPE products
• Working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and other applicable standards to MV products appropriately
• Perform design and drawing activities for medium voltage products of moderate complexity in accordance with established practices and company standards, including bills of material, detail/assembly, and customer drawings
• Drive project execution through design, testing and implementation phase Plan digital prototype activities before prototype building by coordinating with analysis and design team
• Represent knowledge of sub-systems of Medium voltage products like Switches, Fuses, mechanisms and Vacuum Interrupter. Analyze different components of MV products for static, dynamic, thermal, dielectric conditions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in use of CAD (2D and 3D) tools with mechanical or electromechanical systems. Knowledge of industry recognized drafting and CAD standards, practices and procedures. Proficiency in Creo, Autodesk Inventor and SAP is preferable
• Recommends different manufacturing processes like plastic, rubber molding, casting, sheet metal, machining etc. appropriately considering functionality and cost of component
• Prepare Test plan and perform development / certification testing as per relevant IEEE standard
• Provide engineering design support for LIPE Fuse/cutout projects, new product development (NPD) and new technology introduction (NTI) projects
• Perform Engineering calculations and apply analysis first approach during product design process
• Prepares different concepts by identifying/modifying absolute features at component and at system level, carry out economic feasibility of proposed concepts and drive for execution till the conceptual design rolled out in product
• Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications
• Monitors progress and achievements on projects. Provides timely status updates and reports to stakeholders
• Prepare for design review and lead presentation or supports more experienced Engineer / Project Engineer / Project Lead during design reviews
• Utilizes DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements
• Able to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations
• Serve to existing product portfolio by supporting customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical/Production Engineering, Master’s degree in Mechanical design is preferred
• 4 – 7 years of relevant experience in electrical products, mainly in Medium voltage Switchgear, Loadbreak and disconnector switches, auto-recloser, switchgear mechanism
• Knowledge of MV switchgear products/applications, and/or manufacturing processes is added advantage
• Should able to generate novel concepts/ideas for the improvement of the mechanical systems
• Demonstrated project management and leadership capability, experience in coordinating/completing complex projects on-time
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables
• Independent execution of CAD drawings, Modelling & design activities
• Demonstrated skills in engineering analytics, Understanding of basic FEA, CFD simulation areas such as structural, thermal, dynamics, di-electric etc.
• Understanding of relevant IEEE industry standards and how they apply to the product
• Strong analytical skills and interpretation skill
• Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
