Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:-

KRA:-

Costing & Price Benchmarking (Solar & e-BoP):-

  • Provide component wise (Solar Module, inverter, mounting structure, cables, transformers, trackers, BOS etc. ) costing & updated industry benchmarks to bidding and BD teams to ensure optimal IRRs while bidding
  • Develop bottom-up cost models for key solar components:
  • Modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, transformers, trackers, BOS
  • Conduct cost breakdown analysis (BOM/BOP) to determine target pricing for procurement.
  • Benchmark supplier costs across domestic & international markets to optimize sourcing.
  • Track commodity price fluctuations (steel, aluminium, copper, and logistics) and assess cost impact on above Solar / BoS components. As a subject matter expert track commodity price trends based on geopolitical events and suggest sourcing / hedging strategies to be ahead of curve

KPI

  • Cost Model Accuracy: Maintain cost estimates within ±5% variance of actual procurement costs.
  •  Supplier Benchmarking: Update and publish supplier cost benchmarks quarterly for key components.
  • Commodity Price Tracking: Provide monthly reports on commodity price trends with sourcing/hedging recommendations.

KRA:-

Commercial & Vendor Negotiations

  • Support price negotiations with solar suppliers using detailed cost models.
  • Structure long-term supply agreements (LTAs), volume discounts, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with the supply chain & procurement teams to drive cost savings, delivery schedules, & supplier performance.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals from a commercial & technical perspective.
  • Prepare and manage Solar Module supply agreements and other key Solar component contracts aligned with best of industry terms and condition.

KPI:-

  • Cost Savings: Achieve measurable cost reduction through vendor negotiations annually.
  • LTA & Contracts: Finalize long-term supply agreements with optimal pricing and risk mitigation.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Complete commercial and technical evaluation of all major vendor proposals within defined timelines.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:-

  • Stakeholders in Renewable space (Government agencies and private players, Regulatory bodies etc.
  • Central, state and Local government bodies and authorities, Vendors, Manufacturers etc for solar projects

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS:-

  • CBO, Functions and Departments W/I Renewables.Project development and execution teams.
  • All the internal functions in Renewable/Energy sector,Deep collaboration with Group procurement teamP

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:-

  • B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
  • MBA (Supply Chain, Operations, or Finance) preferred

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:-

  • 10-12 years in renewable energy supply chain, procurement, cost modelling, or commercial negotiations
