Job Description

The Lead Engineer-Wind Fleet Management will provide technical support to the local field engineers/technicians of ASIA region in high-level cases. This individual will analyze the failure trend and day to day availability/performance statistics of the ASIA installed fleet. They will also work in close cooperation with the engineering and other cross functions to improve the turbine performance based on statistical data.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve various wind turbine fleet problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and should having ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In addition, you will:

  • Support the Field Engineers/ Customer Service Managers in all technical needs and during customer meetings and internal management presentations
  • Work with 1st level support/ROC/Fleet Ex tool to identify failure trend proactively in an early phase and to initiate corrective actions by following escalation process
  • Provide technical supervision for retrofits and validation of performance improvements
  • Support the Top issues team/ Engineering during Root Cause Analysis programs in compliance with established processes with in Fleet Reliability Operation function with in Fleet Excellence
  • Provide on time Technical Support / Repairs / Escalation for issues that have been problematic and escalated from Services team thorough the established mechanism
  • Improve Pre-COD/ Post-COD issue resolution with clearer ownership and faster response through established processes and tools which are KPI driven.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:-

  • Master’s/ bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering or equivalent full-time degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional technical experience post bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 3 plus years of wind turbine product experience or similar product experience in the areas of technical support/design and development/ Operation and Maintenance are desired.
  • In depth knowledge on wind turbine or similar mechanical components such as gearbox, pitch gear system, yaw gear system, bearings and other sub-systems, structures are considered as added advantage for this role
  • Hands-on engineering tools expertise such as Catia/Ansys will be added advantage.
  • Six sigma blackbelt/ greenbelt certified preferred

  • Willingness to travel to remote locations with short notice including international sites
  • Climb turbines when necessary, ABILITY TO WORK AT HEIGHTS WITHOUT FEAR
  • Ability to drive complex projects / issues to completion / elimination
  • Good knowledge on digital tools and MS office tools such as excel, power point, outlook etc.
