Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

You will be working as Lead Mechanical Design Engineer and will be part of Electrification business for Smart Buildings division based in Hyderabad, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Leader NEMA Enclosed and will be responsible for executing mechanical design projects for residential load centers, meter socket load centers, AC Disconnects, and other residential electrical equipment to drive growth thru quality improvements, cost optimization, and new product introduction. Developing products to meet customer needs in a fast paced, multiple project environment

Responsibilities:-

• Demonstrating solid technical proficiency in mechanical design and project execution while executing design projects. Must demonstrate independent ability to understand, modify, and design new solutions
• Ensuring alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinate activities Demonstrating sound understanding of, and actively apply, R&D processes and tools
• Identifying risk assessment and mitigation plans for each R&D Project. Using sound engineering logic and available data to reduce risk and develop strong plans to mitigate risks early and reduce them in a stepwise fashion
• Developing test plans for product certification. Planning and build prototypes, review, and interpret results. and apply findings to ensure robust adherence to internal and 3rd party certification requirements
• Maintaining awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, and identify and understands technical drivers for R&D projects in your area
• Participating constructively in working teams. Sharing your own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and support colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality results. Showing solid documentation skills and develop design review content independently

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ Year’s design experience with demonstrated success in project execution
• Experience designing with CREO from concept development to detailed design
• Demonstrated technical leadership and organizational skills
