Lead Engineer, Conceptual Design

Based on highly sensitive and confidential customer data (d-data) the Lead Engineer, Conceptual Design designs blades by optimizing length, shape, aerodynamic performance, structural build up and aero-elastic behavior in or der to ensure best fit on the customer turbine.
You work in close cooperation with the Technical Account Managers to drive the customer enquiry to a new Blade Product.
You to lead and develop a core field within Conceptual Design in close cooperation with the Principal Engineer of Conceptual Design.
You continuously improve our design tools ensuring that LM stays best in class when designing blades.

Essential Responsibilities:-
As the Lead Engineer, Conceptual Design, you:

• Lead and develop one of the core disciplines in the Conceptual Design: Blade aerodynamics, turbine modeling, loads simulations, optimization, structural blade design, Cost modelling, Aeroelasticity or programming.
• Design new blades ensuring that the project can be priced and is feasible for the customer turbine.
• Provide technical support on Blade design, Turbine dynamics, Turbine controller strategies etc.
• Challenge existing LM design specifications. Provide visibility to the rest of Engineering on what is constraining LM Blades in being even more competitive.
• Give feedback on what new technologies are needed to ensure competiveness.
• Support on turbine impact of new LM technologies.
• Support with turbine simulations providing possible wreck scenarios

Qualifications/Requirements:-

• Ph.D or M.Sc in Engineering (within relevant area)
• +3 years technical experience within turbine modelling and simulations.
• Programming skill within Pascal, Python, C++ or similar.
