Lead Electronic Systems Engineer

The Lead Electronic Systems Engineer is a key role within our R&D team at Ametek’s technology solutions centre in Bangalore, covering the range of Taylor Hobson’s world-renowned handheld metrology instrumentation. (https://www.taylor-hobson.com/ )
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take a hands-on end to end systems design role, building our next generation handheld metrology hardware platforms. This necessary incorporates motion control, low noise transducer signal processing*, touch screen display and calculation engine. The role will be supported by an addition EE and Software engineering team both locally and from the UK for specialist knowledge*. Prototyping and preproduction will be undertaken locally
Reporting to the Engineering Director, the right candidate will function as a part of a multi-discipline team.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:-

• Management of the EE function within a New Product Development process framework
• Regular weekly reporting of progress against agreed plan
• System design and prove out of drives, sensors and displays
• Ensuring we meet all aspects of the Electronics requirements from function to robust and regulatory requirements
• Identify the requirements then formulate, Simulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging new product developments also provide necessary inputs to the business unit.
• Prepares product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing test reports.
• Develop prototype unit testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs
• Work with suppliers locally and globally for the viable cost effective and competent solutions.

• Some experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Track record of taking the initiative and pragmatic decision making
• Mentoring junior team members

Qualifications:-

• Relevant experience of 7 to 10 years.
• Good Degree Level education in Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Physics to provide a sound theoretical background and the ability to understand and investigate a wide variety engineering challenges.
