Lead / Design Engineer Piping

• Provide the scheme to designer for the preparation of Equipment Layout and Piping layout
• Calculate the MTO and SOQ
• Piping related Spec preparation
• Checking of Isometrics drawings and guide the designer for the preparation of nozzle orientation
• Review the stress study result and share the strength with civil team
• Review the alignment with other disciplines 3D / 2D deliverables

Lead Design Engineer – Piping Layout:-

• Leading and managing a team of piping engineers, 3D modellers and CAD technicians
• Develop – maintain – monitor the programme for Piping design group w.r.t. staff planning and manning schedule. Delivering Projects for all projects through them members
• Encourages, develops and coaches team members to produce creative and innovative solutions to problems
• Target for productivity enhancement and optimum use of resources
• Identifies and clarifies client priorities and monitors outputs of teams to ensure client requirements are met across own range of projects. Support Resource manager to appoint Team leader on projects. Closely work with team leaders for effective project delivery and quality deliverables
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of statutory, technical, and environmental considerations and ensures technical solutions meet with those obligations and client needs

Lead Design Engineer – Piping Stress:-

• Candidate should have demonstrated ability in carrying out stress study and its associated calculations of piping system along with the allied activities like preparation of stress critical line list, preparation of summary of nozzle loads and vessel cleats, preparation of loading for pipe rack/ structures as an input to CSA, Assist design for critical/non-critical lines and review them in piping layout/ isometrics/ 3D Model, preparation of pipe related sketches, Flange Leakage study etc
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as process group to confirm various operating scenarios to conclude the stress load cases, two phase flows etc. or with structural group to confirm locations and loads.
• Prepare stress isometrics mark-ups and issue the same to layout group. Ensure that the stress recommendations are incorporated in piping design by signing and stamping on stress critical isometrics.
• Candidate should be well versed with all relevant international standards like ASME, API, NEMA, EJMA etc. and also relevant stress study software like CAESAR. Knowledge of Ansys will be an added advantage

Lead Design Engineer – Piping Material:-

• Comprehension of client / project requirements for timely completion and submission of project deliveries
• Possess good knowledge of Codes like ASME B31.3, ASME B31.12, ASME B31.1, related ASTM / API / BS standards and application of these requirements in projects, piping material selection and developing piping service class index in consultation with process engineer.
• Preparation of Piping specifications for metallic piping, non-metallic piping and lined piping, pipe wall thickness calculations including external pressure calculation, branch chart calculations and line blanks, valve material specifications, datasheets for all piping special items, RFQs for piping bulk items, valves, specialty items, etc
• Carrying out technical evaluation of vendor offers against RFQ’s for all piping material; preparation of both technical evaluation and commercial comparison, technical bid study reports for valves, piping specialties, etc
• Preparation of Cost estimation for Piping bought items as well as for construction related activities like Equipment Erection, Piping fabrication – erection works, thermal insulation & Painting works, piping MTO & Inch Dia / Inch Metre reports

• Lead Design Engineer – Piping Layout / Piping Stress / Piping Material, Location – Mumbai / Ahmedabad / Chennai, desired experience – 9 to 15 years of relevant experience
• Design Engineer Piping, location – Mumbai / Ahmedabad / Chennai, desired experience – 4 to 8 years of relevant experience

Role Criteria:-

• Qualified BE / ME in Mechanical / Chemical from a reputed university / institute
• Experience in Engineering Consultancy firms, with Chemical Industry / Pharmaceutical / FMCG / Food Processing Industry.
• Candidate should be a good team player and shall have good communication ability (verbal and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills: writing, speaking, listening, persuading and influencing and collaborating.
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
