Head – Wind Segment

Wind Segment Head will have end to end responsibility for the portfolio of wind plants/projects of Renewables business. He/she will direct and coordinate activities ensuring that the project is completed on schedule and within budget. He/she will also be involved with the bidding of projects and business development activities as well.

Segment Head must be familiar with all aspects of wind plant construction: from planning, budgeting, site selection, site studies, and permitting processes and safety policies to construction activities of wind plants.  He/she must have a deep understanding of wind specific construction aspects such as geotechnical constraints on foundation types of wind turbines, crane pads, storage yard requirements, interconnecting transmission lines and interconnecting roads.

Responsibilities:-

• Responsible for operational level understanding of customer/bid requirements and end to end execution of wind projects (BOP) as per requirements and good engineering practices
• Plan and arrange pre-bid site visits to finalise onsite execution strategy and help proposal/tendering teams with inputs for bidding
• Actively involve in discussions with Wind BOP turnkey agencies and evaluate each agency for potential collaboration
• Coordinate and work with teams to facilitate the development, negotiation, and execution of project contracts (Term Sheets/ Contract agreements/MOU) with customers and construction contracts with partners
• Establish the project cost estimate and take responsibility for regular review, reporting of forecasted expenditures under the estimate, as well as controlling expenditures so that the project remains within the estimated cost
• Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and manpower requirements needed
• Plan and schedule the entire construction project, including construction operations and timelines to make sure project deadlines are met
• Responsible for preparation of project plans and detailed execution schedule and methodology
• Plan, organize, monitor, and control the project activities to ensure timely completion of the project
• Constant customer contact and manage customer expectations
• Administration and management of project contracts to secure the interests of the organisation
• Provide detailed inputs for the development of Quality and safety plan for construction activities
• Liaise with all internal and external teams/stakeholders to ensure the project activities and processes are coordinated.
• Work with turnkey partners, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts
• Identify and assess risks time to time and generate mitigation options specific to BOP packages of the wind projects portfolio
• Prevent injuries, slowdowns, and project risks by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites, and reporting safety regulation issues promptly
