Head- Project Development Statkraft Delhi, India Job Posted : Apr 3rd, 2024 Job Description As a Head- Project Development, you would be reporting to the Director – Business and Project Development. This a senior role responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end development of wind, solar and hybrid projects. This position shall play a crucial role in driving the growth of the company’s renewable portfolio, identifying project opportunities, conducting feasibility studies, securing land & permits and ensuring smooth execution by the project team. Role And Responsibilities:- 1. Project identification and opportunity assessment:- Contribute to strategy development, business plan and annual plan based on market trends, government policies, land acquisition & permitting processes. In line with agreed strategy, identify potential wind/solar/hybrid project opportunities in identified states. Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the feasibility of grid connection and land acquisition/leasing in collaboration with business, technical, sustainability, legal and governance teams. 2. Partner selection and project development:- Lead the process selection and on-boarding of development partners (land aggregator, developer etc.) in line with company policies. Oversee land acquisition across all wind/solar/hybrid projects starting from due diligence to negotiations and agreements with landowners or relevant authorities. Ensure regular stakeholder engagement at local, state and central level. Facilitate technical studies, site clearance and community engagement. Oversee approval/permitting processes across all wind/solar/hybrid projects throughout project lifecycle ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. 3. Planning and risk mitigation:- Ensure regular reporting of progress, updating of risk register and internal communication of risks and mitigation plans. Across the portfolio of projects, contribute to project planning and internal decision processes to facilitate timely development. 4. Team management and development:- Actively seek and provide feedback to team members, peers, managers. Prepare, implement and keep track of development plans for team members in collaboration with HR. Identify, define and secure human resource needs for specific projects and for execution of overall business/annual plan. Qualifications:- We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions, with the following: Background and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, business administration, or a related field. 15+ years experience in renewable project development, a large part of which should be with a renewable asset owner company. 5+ years of experience in team management. Proven expertise in land acquisition & renewable project development in India. In-depth knowledge of wind/solar/hybrid project development processes, including site selection and permitting. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and policies in India. Personal attributes:- Results-driven and ability to work under tight deadlines.
