Fire Protection Engineer – GFS

• Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding fire protection systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with applicable codes and standard.
• Responsible for the design and specification of fire suppression systems including wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and storage tanks on a wide variety of project types. Knowledge of special systems such as foam, spray, mist, clean agent, wet/dry chemical, and carbon dioxide is preferred.
• Responsible for the design and specification of fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and releasing systems. Knowledge of manual, electric, and pneumatic releasing, as well as cross-zoning and flame detection is preferred.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients and other stake holders to develop a clash free system design.
• Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget.
• Manage a team of engineers and designers working on a project. o Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports.The candidate should have a B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma.

Qualifications:-

General Requirements:-

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in fire protection design.
• Working knowledge of international codes and standards (NFPA, International Fire Code, International Building Code, American Petroleum Institute, etc.) applicable for industrial facilities, manufacturing, fueling, and commercial projects.

Tools:-

• Navisworks, SprinkCAD, KY Pipe, AutoCAD, Smartplant 3D, Revit
• Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad plant 3D will be an added advantage.
• Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote
