Environment Health & Safety Manager – Solar PV Module Manufacturing Avaada Maharashtra, India Job Posted : Sep 11th, 2024 Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee all aspects of environmental health and safety for our Solar PV Module Manufacturing Plant. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations, and promoting a culture of sustainability and safety throughout the organization. Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental health and safety policies and procedures for the Solar PV Module Manufacturing Plant. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential environmental and safety hazards, providing recommendations for preventive measures. Ensure compliance with all applicable local and national environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain proper waste management, pollution control, and emergency response systems. Monitor and report on key environmental performance indicators, such as waste generation, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy consumption. Develop and implement training programs to raise employee awareness of environmental health and safety practices and regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential environmental and safety issues and ensure adherence to established protocols. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Coordinate with relevant regulatory agencies to ensure timely reporting, permit renewals, and compliance with applicable laws. Stay up to date with emerging environmental health and safety regulations and best practices. Continuously promote a culture of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and safety across the organization. Qualifications and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be a plus. Safety Degree/Diploma from RLI/CLI is desirable. Certification in Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001) is required. Proven experience as an Environment Health & Safety professional in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Solar PV or renewable energy industry. In-depth knowledge of local and national environmental regulations and standards, specifically related to Solar PV Module Manufacturing. Strong understanding of waste management, pollution control, and emissions reduction strategies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective control measures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels and regulatory agencies. Experience conducting audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Ability to develop and implement effective training programs. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement in environmental health and safety performance.
