At Eaton India Innovation Center, Electrical Sector Americas is looking for Technology specialist to join our Controls & Protection Division! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. This position is for leading specific technical domain on ‘Meters Relays and Digital Software’ a $40M size product line under the $1.2B Controls & Protection Division of Electrical Sector Americas.

• Responsible for Firmware architectural concept definition, design, development for Industrial Power Quality Meters and Gateways products. This includes contribution in product development by understanding product requirements, design & develop feature enhancements and implementation protocol features like Modbus, DNP, MQTT, BACnet, EtherNet based protocols, using technologies like C, C++ by using a Linux  on microcontroller platforms. Experience in Device drivers and DSP programming using Yacto will be an added advantage
• Manage program requirements, convert them into executable tasks and guide the team to develop Meter’s firmware.
• Lead system engineering, reviewing the firmware content, Requirement’s elicitation, and detailed design for firmware. Fair understanding of Agile development framework with Scrum based execution.
• Coach, guide and develop the next line of lead engineers
• Work with Product engineering director & chief engineer to own and execute end to end firmware development from India. Participate and contribute product road mapping and Technology road mapping (specifically for Meter’s product line)
• Shape Focus area and build portfolio that matters. Define clear road map for next 3 – 5 years and execute action items to mitigate identified gaps. Leverage EIIC ecosystem for validation to accelerate time to market.
• Propose idea & projects aligned with digitalization strategy for various products considering competitor landscape working closely with Electrical Sector COE’s and Digital organization.
• Represent Eaton in various external technical forum and lead internal technical special interest group on firmware

Job Responsibilities:-

• Develops the architectural requirements engineering, designs,  concept definition and development of Linux based embedded application for Power quality IoT enables Meters and Gateways
• Creates automation for the  unit / Whitebox for the firmware developed, feature enhancement & resolution of the issues reported by validation team, spotted at customer site by providing the product line support.
• Develop re-usable components and looks for continuous improvement opportunities in Electrical industrial control products. Share knowledge within the team and demonstrate flexibility working in parallel on multiple products.
• Create technology and product concepts and articulate product and firmware Architecture. Ensure quality of delivery in accordance with the plan adhering to the standard practices used in agile/waterfall model.
• Perform code reviews with team members for modules/tasks and ensuring that best practices and efficient coding standards are adhered to.
• Ensures compliance with Agile Scrum process and agile ceremonies/work products, Management standards and guidelines

Qualifications:-

Requirement:-    

• Minimum education for this position is a bachelor’s in  electrical / Electronics/Controls
• 14+ years of hands-on expertise in Linux and  C++ based firmware applications on microcontrollers/microprocessors.
• 6+ Experience in development of Power quality meters or Energy meters with fieldbus communication protocols like MQTT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Embedded Webserver etc.
• Linux, C++, Yacto, Communication Protocols MQTT, Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP,
• Strong background in DFSS with GB/BB certification
• Drive for Result and sense of urgency.
