Engineer- Sourcing

The purpose of this position is to support Commodity Manager in deployment of  the Commodity Strategy for categories like stamping and machined parts, turned components, electro-mechanical assemblies, plastics and rubber components with specific focus on Purchasing of Finish Goods for Resale (PFGR). Support Commodity Manager in Managing spend in India & South East Asia, associated with Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) business. This position will actively Identify capable suppliers and engage with stake holders in enchancement of the spend in the region. Exploring new cost out opportunities and realising the cost out programs. Initiating RFQs , completing negotiations, get the stake holder buying, awarding the businesss to supplier  and supporting  project execution working closely with SDE function. Perform SCM activities in close co-ordination with various stake holders. Support Eaton India Innovation Center, Direct Materail Productivity, VA.VE teams by generating additional opporutnities of cost out.  Collaborate with materials function support to buyers and planners to ensure supplies from region is uninterupted and seamless. Work in conjuction with QA team, to ensuer Supplier Site Audits are completed for new supplier addition.  .This position will play a key ‘supporting’ role in coordinating and execution of Supplier Chain Strategy as directed by Commodity Manager and Global Category Managers.

• Develop, plan, monitor and execute direct material cost out projects by closely working with Commodity Manager, utilizing the Eaton Standard Sourcing Process.
• Provide support in developing global category strategy & help commodity manager in executing and deployment of the strategy to effectively leverage Eaton’s global spend of PFGR (US$70+M in the region as well as $85+M globally) working with the Global Category Manager to deliver cost benefits.
• Build project hopper/pipeline to ensure current and future Cost Out projects road map.
• Support Commodity Managers in negotiations and manage key strategic supplier agreements, cost negotiations and relationships with Grow and maintain suppliers.
• Develop and own an Approved Suppliers List with categorization of Grow, Maintain, Evolve and Eliminate as a custodian, and execute supplier rationalization activity by eliminating supplier base by moving potential businesses to Grow suppliers.
• Collaborate with Surcharge Management teams, for budgeting, negotiations and supervising the material and freight surcharges for suppliers.
• Responsible to maintain supply continuity via risk identification and mitigation.
• Co-ordinate with internal teams including but not limited to ESSP, Should Cost, TCO, Resiliency, Risk and Compliance team to achieve enterprise SCM goal.
• Support NPI Programs by supporting the sourcing activities to ensure the Phase Gate reviews are completed on time as per the schedule.
• Keep track of annual Cost Out targets (Plan v/s actual) and work with Commodity Manager for recovery should there be any gap in annual Goals and Objectives
• Visit suppliers to perform initial assessment from the process standpoint to ensure suitability of the RFQs prior to the SSA by QA team.
• Support CMs for the supplier negotiations for initiatives like YoY, Productivity, Volume discount, improvement in DPO, Tooling costs and other commercial relation issues with supplier.
• Participate and team up using the platforms like VA.VE, Benchmarking, VSM events, and represent SCM and Sourcing function and garner maximum Cost Out ideas by strengthening the hopper and funnel projects.
• Perform Spend analysis and use the results for data driven decision making for resourcing projects.
