Engineer – Product Sustainment

• PSP engineer responsible for coating equipment over their entire lifecycle, including documentation.
• Keep the bill of material (BOM) and documentation of coating equipment up-to-date
• Planning (strategic and operative) and realisation of PSP projects, while taking budget, cost and timeline into account.

Duties & Responsibilities:-

Product Sustainment:-

• Responsibility for coating systems over the entire life cycle
• Product maintenance (BOM up to date) and their further developments
• Strategic and operational planning and implementation of LCM projects including budget responsibility, costs and deadline control
• Support and interdisciplinary cooperation with various specialist departments such as After Sales, Sales, Assembly, Customer Support Center, R&D and Engineering
• Evaluation / development of substitution components in the “Change Mgmt” process
• Application and implementation of globally applicable guidelines and standards
• Safety-related adjustments for CE conformity
• Coordination of changes to coating systems installed worldwide
• Responsibility and maintenance of the system-relevant documentation
• Operational collaboration in innovation and development projects
• Troubleshooting in 2nd level support for customers worldwide

Improvements:-

• Processing of customer requests / requirements in roadmaps and implementation of these plans
• Project management and implementation of retrofits, options and new functions
• Leading a continuous improvement process
• Improvements to reduce production, maintenance and upkeep costs

Stakeholder Management:-

• Ensuring communication with internal and external customers about innovations, adjustments and improvements (e.g. technical information)
• Proactive communication with stakeholders
• Planning the PSP roadmap
• Proactive collaboration with key suppliers

Qualification and Experience:-

• Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics
• Minimum 6- 8 years of work experience in the field of machine building, troubleshooting & Industrial automation.
• Completed basic technical training with several years of professional experience
• Further training in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical or systems engineering
• Very good understanding of business relationships
• Experience in vacuum and coating technology as well as plant construction desirable
• Experience in project management
• Good written and spoken English, Fluency in German desirable
• Customer-oriented, resilient and communicative personality with organizational skills
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Willingness to travel internationally (5 – 10%)
