Job Description

Responsibilities:-

  • Desktop study for pipeline route, prepare preliminary pipeline route map with possible options.
  • Involve in authority approval activities and interact with NOC agent responsible for obtaining NOC. In case NOC agent is not engaged the NOC coordination activities have to be performed.
  • Involve in site visit for reconnaissance and verification of pipeline routes and establish the most preferred route option.
  • Prepare scope of work for pipeline surveys; evaluate survey contractor’s bids; during execution coordinate with survey contractors; review and approve survey reports.
  • Carry out site visit to client facilities as required. Site survey and data collection, system adequacy checks.
  • Perform all Pipeline related calculations, studies and Reports such as wall thickness and grade, upheaval buckling, stress analysis, road crossing and prepare reports
  • Prepare Pipeline engineering deliverables such as Basis of Design, Philosophies, Specifications, Typical drawings, Data sheets.
  • Ensure all Pipeline engineering deliverables are prepared and issued in adherence with project schedule, tender requirements, Client specifications & standards, fit for purpose and with quality and complete the project within the budgeted hours.
  • Prepare documentation such as material take offs, Material Requisitions.
  • Perform technical bid evaluation of bidders’ offers and prepare TBE report.
  • Perform vendor deliverables review and ensure its incorporation in engineering design where applicable.
  • Provide inputs to Piping disciplines regarding pipeline stress analysis and to Civil or foundation design.
  • Actively participate in workshops such as Design Review, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Constructability Reviews, as required.
  • Liaise with the Client and Vendors for project specific needs.
  • Liaises with designers, provides input for the preparation of drawings and details.
  • Ensures all Pipeline deliverables are being issued fully aligned with all other disciplines like process, piping, electrical, civil and structural.
  • Performs regular and timely technical reviews and approval of Pipeline engineering and design deliverables developed by engineering consultants / contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Coordinates, monitors and handles Pipeline design and engineering with EPC contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame.
  • Works with other discipline engineers within PMC, EPC contractor, Vendors, and Client / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Pipeline engineering execution and integrity etc.
  • Client representation on and off site as appropriate.
  • Carries out Technical Evaluation of Bids, Issue Bid Technical Clarifications, Technical Evaluation Reports and Recommendations.
  • Provide on-site engineering support and consultation during construction, pre-commissioning & commissioning stage. Witness and sign off construction activities as completed, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the new systems.
  • Awareness of Company’s QHSE Policy and Business Management System. Be aware of and obey the Company QHSE rules and perform the activities required by relevant procedures on these issues.

Qualifications and Experience:-

  • BE, B.Tech Mechanical or equivalent level minimum 4 years Engineering from accredited University. Postgraduate degree will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of professional experience in design of cross-country pipelines.
  • Previous experience in feasibility studies, conceptual design pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design.
