Job Description

The Engineer-Customer Service will be responsible for techno commercial role on John Crane products manufactured in the CoE. The job involves interacting closely with various internal Teams and supporting Intercompany and external customers worldwide. Important day-to-day duties would involve.

Duties & Responsibilities:-
  • Handling Customer inquiries for parts, products, and services.
  • Costing and pricing of products.
  • Agreeing transfer pricing and service level agreements with Customers.
  • Selection, pricing and preparation of quotations and proposals where necessary working with the Engineering and other departments.
  • Reviewing POs and ensuring clean order entry in the business system involving contract review procedure and documentation management.
  • Initiating drawing requests, GPN Requests and reviewing drawings and designs with approval of customers.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Manufacturing, Dispatch and Finance departments to ensure safe, quality, and timely delivery of products at customer sites; and statutory requirements are compiled to.
  • Creating processes and procedures.
  • Reporting requirements of the company / department.
  • Establishing good relationship with the customers, handling complaints, and giving timely feedback and progress reporting to customers.
  • Analyse the order intake from the different customers (regions) and compare them with yearly plan. Discuss any short fall in orders with customers and prepare the order forecast. Monitor, follow up with all functions in Operations/Regional Sales (for Domestic) for Daily Dispatch Plans to meet the Delivery Performance Targets, generating updated reports for the same periodically.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and implement important initiatives.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • BE/ DME with 3-6 years overall related experience.
  • Must have experience of working on SAP and MS-Office.
  • Strong Techno-commercial experience is must.
  • Must possess Excellent co-ordination, communication (English proficiency: Both verbal and written) and inter-personal Skills.
  • Understand John Crane products, especially seals, standard couplings and high-performance couplings and other products too.
  • Technical ability to understand design, drawings, and Manufacturing processes.
  • Customer service and business oriented, target and results driven.
  • Excellent in managing change requirements while order execution.
  • Contribute to safety measures and company policies.
  • Should be able to Plan and prioritize work.
  • Quick Learner with good analytical skills.
  • A thorough team player with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to use influencing and collaboration skills to Support Customers.
