Electrical Designer

• Develop a deep understanding for the Fluence energy storage technology platforms
• Draws plans for electrical layouts, equipment installation and other construction for BESS and substation.
• Take the lead in identifying and evaluating proposals from BOP contractors to support system integration
• General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-Station Layouts
• Equipment installation drawings including civil foundations
• Design of High/Low Voltage Switchboards and HV/LV sub-mains cabling, distribution and Containment
• Design of Electrical trench/tray, Lighting, earthing and power layouts, Single line diagrams; Power, lighting and earthing typical, Cable Scheduling and Routing Design (above and below ground)
• Design of Lightning protection, Lighting, Lighting control and Emergency lighting, Safety installations and Security installations, telecommunication, public address system, fire alarm and security
• Uses manual drawing skills for plans that cannot be computer generated.
• Draws layout of lightings and power for building interiors.
• Revises drawings based on instructions from engineers or architects.
• Ensure that completed systems conform to all specifications, codes, standards and customer requirements
• Working in close cooperation with Energy Storage project and engineering teams.
• Monitors compliance with electrical codes & standards throughout the construction process.
• Reviews engineering data to ensure compliance with the original design plans.
• Demonstrate Fluence values.

• The successful candidate will have a minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in an energy, engineering and/or battery storage related field. An ability to interact in a multicultural environment, travel and to work under pressure are also very important.

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Equivalent. Electrical Engineering preferred, but other fields will be considered.
• 10 – 14 years of designing experience.
• Sound design and modeling skills for Industrial plant layout, electrical design and detailing.
• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar PV, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) for High Voltage Systems.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and materials.
• Proficient in Electrical component specification, sizing of RMU, Relay, HT/LT breaker/panel, Transformer, DB’s, LT/HT projects
• Proficient in preparing SLD, Schematics, GA, BOM and reports
• Knowledge in PLM and Bill of Material preparation
• Sound knowledge of industry or regulatory codes and standards for electrical systems.
• Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Sound knowledge of designing electrical systems and workflows for electrical systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
• Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
