Electrical Design Engineer – DC

• Design of DC side electrical engineering related Medium and large-scale Solar Photovoltaic Power plants. Ability to provide cost optimised design of the arrangement of the PV plant layout.
• Knowledge in DC side Engineering Specification and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.)
• Shall be Familiar with Energy yield simulation in PV Syst.
• Shall be able to select the Solar PV Modules types and ratings, PV module installation type. Optimum DC rating of Plant.
• Shall be able to perform shading analysis using software tools (Sketchup, etc.)
• Preparation of DC SLD (Single Line Diagrams) & the layout design for the 3D CAD tools.
• Preparation of Plant Layout GA drawings, PV Array Layout, DC Cable routine layouts, DC Grouping layout and all other Solar PV plant services layout
• PV plant Earthing Calculation as per IEEE, BS, IS and other related standards: Earthing conductor sizing and earth mat design.
• Lightning risk assessment and lightning calculations for design for Solar PV plant as per IEC and IEEE guidelines.
• String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC) sizing & calculation; Control Cable sizing, length Calculations and cable accessories selections.
• Able to understand and Validate Power conversion Unit (PCS) or Solar PV inverter component Power / Control schematics, BOQ and Site accessories.
• Sizing Calculations for the protection Fuse, Connectors, SCB, SPD all DC components and Ability to select the DC Fuse, SCB, String / Central Inverters or PCS and all associated equipment’s for solar PV plant as per IEC, IS, IEEE standards.
• Review & preparation of General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, check list preparation, Equipment sizing and configuration for the DC Component.
• Auxiliary Load calculation AC & DC and designing schematic diagram of auxiliary loads.
• Performing illumination sizing calculations, Ventilation calculations, Fire alarm system for the Buildings and open fields of Solar PV array.
• Able to do pre-dispatch inspection and perform pre-commissioning test for all solar plant equipment’s independently. Coordination and support for testing and commission of Inverter.

Partial skill set include:-

• Coordination of PV Plant parts of solar PV projects covering the phases within their development from project execution phase to commissioning assessments
• Participation in Solar PV plant feasibility report preparation, Technical Due Diligence report and site visits
• Advising client on any design issues encountered while design phase of the project.
• Coordination of designs and review activities between Contractor/EPC, Design team and client office.
• Effective Project coordination via communication with internal teams. Regular update on Master deliverable list to maintain record of project progress.
• Highlight any technical issues as they occur and advise on their actual or potential impacts.
• Correspondence record with client for ready reference required during design and review meetings.
• Understanding and working in given scope and adhering timelines.
• Customer communication, project progress tracking, interdisciplinary coordination.
• Attending meetings at customer/contractor offices/site, factory acceptance testing and commissioning support.
• Adhering to quality processes.
• Participating in system development activities.

Essential Criteria:-

• Candidate shall be preferably from Consultancy / EPC background with exposure on utility scale solar PV projects.
• Candidate shall be preferably to have Exposure to the on-site DC components erections works and commissioning of DC side of the Solar plant.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office is essential, PV Syst, Sketchup, Dialux tools will be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and stay as per requirement in India and abroad.
• Candidate needs to comply with organizations HSE commitment.

Selection Process:-

• Telephonic Discussion: Preliminary round of discussion over a call by the company HR.
• In-Person / Skype Meeting: Round of discussion with the domain specialist in Pune office, skype may be preferred for outstation candidates.
• HR Meeting: Upon shortlisting in initial interview, discussion on remuneration at Pune office.
• Director Meeting: At Pune office before conclusion.
