EHS & Facilities Manager Danaher’s global organization Karnataka, India Job Posted : Nov 17th, 2022 Job Description Responsibilities:- Primary function of the Site EHS & Facilities Officer is to champion and promote occupational health and safety awareness, monitor satisfactory completion of occupational health and safety related actions, including risk assessments and training. Facility Management & EHS Responsibilities:- Overseeing contracts and providers for services including security, housekeeping, fire safety system, diesel generators and so on Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including housekeeping, maintenance, and security Ensuring that basic facilities, such as Stationery and Cafeteria Supplies, HVAC, Lab Scrubber & Fume Hood and Equipments are well-maintained Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness Overseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments To advise and support in planning, organizing, controlling and maintaining office space. To adhere to the Company EHS policy, organization and arrangements in consultation with various stake holders. To implement EHS Procedures and develop local work procedures to comply with legal obligations. To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance related to Environment management. Sustain EHS Compliance, identify, prevent and resolve potential EHS issues and to mitigate EHS liabilities associated with current operations. Support for Department:- To advise and support the Site Environment, Health & Safety Committee making sure that the committee takes ownership of the Site Environment, Health & Safety Plan. To advise Site Leader in ensuring that their Plant has key staff mobilized to carry out the Environment, Health& safety activities e.g. Risk/Impact assessors, First aiders, Fire wardens etc. Accident investigation and prevention:- To receive and investigate reports of accidents, dangerous occurrences and fire damage, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls. To monitor that all accidents are properly investigated by department managers and lessons learnt are shared appropriately. To maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences& Environmental Incidents. Environment Health & Safety (EHS)Training:- To identify the training needs for associates & contractors and develop training matrix. Liaise with managers to nominate associates & contractors for training courses. Design, develop, upgrade content on EHS training and impart trainings as required. To monitor training and report progress on training against annual targets to the Site EHS Committee. To develop a system to ensure that all associates & contractors are inducted on EHS requirements of the company. To Identify and develop training program on environmental compliance and monitoring regulations. To monitor work environment parameters e.g. workplace noise, illumination, heat, humidity, indoor air quality etc. Prepare a PPE matrix covering the entire premises on the basis of risk assessment of the respective area/activity. Ensure compliance to occupational. Wastewater Treatment Activity:- Responsibility encompasses the effluent treatment plant and ensures its safe operations as per the governing law standards. Compliance of all parameters as defined by the PCB Qualifications:- Education requirement BE/B Tech/B.Sc. with a Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute Minimum of three years industry experience managing work in an independent capacity. Fluent in English and the local language, Kannada Position Competencies (must haves for the position):- Exposure to ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 management systems preferable Project Management exposure will be an added advantage Able to implement Global EHS policies and accommodate local cultural and regulatory requirements. Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse business units, external agencies and contractors in a proactive manner is essential. Good communication skills- should be able to interact with all level of employees. Should be able to develop and deliver H & S related training modules. Good problem-solving skills – ability to prioritize and allocate resources. Ready to travel as and when required. Location:- Karnataka, India.
