Director Renewable Projects

We are seeking a highly qualified/ experienced/ entrepreneurial professional to join our team as Director Renewable Projects linked to our Green Hydrogen and its derivatives projects. If successful, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful development and execution of multiple and large (GW) scale renewable capacities for our Green Hydrogen and derivates projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:-

Project Planning and Development (pre-installation/pre-FID):-

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the development of suitable Wind and Solar capacities in alignment with the company’s renewable energy objectives and rolling 3-year business plan.
• Continuously translate rolling business plans into identification and development of strategic Wind, Solar and Hybrid sites including securing land, connectivity, and other local infrastructure/support
• Develop and nurture strong senior relationships with local authorities, stakeholders and governments to secure support for development of Wind, Solar, and Hybrid projects.
• Directly oversee Renewable Engineering, develop execution plan and sourcing strategies and develop detailed capex budget to bring Renewable capacities to FID (Final Investment Decision) stage.

Project Planning and Execution (post-FID/installation and commissioning):-

• Directly oversee the project planning, engineering, ordering, delivery, construction, permitting and commissioning of Wind, Solar and Hybrid projects, from conception to commissioning.
• Ensure projects are delivered within established timelines, budget constraints, and meet the highest quality standards. Very strong oversight over capex and timeline
• Go deep into technical details as and when required.
• Directly oversee successful handover of operating plants to O&M team

Regulatory Expertise and Guidance:-

• Leverage in-depth knowledge of Renewables (Wind Preferred) and associated Regulatory permitting and latest trends to guide successful implementation of renewable installations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, integrating them into project strategies.

Risk Management:-

• Smartly plan project development monthly budgets for Project Development Expenses and Operating Expenses in close coordination with CFO
• Smartly plan project execution bi-weekly budgets for Project Execution Capex and Opex in close coordination with CFO
• Identify and mitigate potential risks with respect to Timeline/Budget and successfully develop & implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations in the execution of projects.

Stakeholder Communication:-

• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership on project status, milestones, and potential issues.

Team Management:-

• Build and lead a high-performing project management team and optimize resource allocation to projects.

Continuous Improvement and Quality improvements:-

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives project management function, implement best practices, processes and lessons learned from previous projects.

Qualifications:-

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management of highly complex projects
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams – Must be strong people’s person
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques

Experience:-

• Proven track record and leadership experience of successfully executing Renewable (Preferably Wind) projects in India. Wind-Solar Hybrid projects, will be an added positive for consideration. Minimum 2-3 GW of relevant project experience
• Candidates with no Wind Project execution experience, may not apply for the position
• Familiarity with Indian regulatory frameworks and environmental standards and knows ways to get things done.
