Director Hardware Engineering for EV Charging

• As a Director of Hardware Engineering for EV Charging, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of hardware engineers in the development and design of cutting-edge hardware systems for electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of EV charging technology and driving innovation in the field of sustainable transportation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and manufacturing partners, to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable hardware solutions for EV charging stations.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:-

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the hardware engineering team, setting overall objectives, goals, and priorities to ensure successful product development and delivery.
• Manage the entire hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring adherence to best  practices and industry standards for quality, reliability, and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements, specifications, and design parameters for EV charging products, considering factors such as power electronics, thermal management, communication protocols, and user experience.
• Lead the selection and evaluation of hardware components and technologies, managing relationships with  suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of materials and resources for product development.
• Oversee the design, testing, and validation of hardware prototypes, conducting thorough analysis and  troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in hardware design processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize product  performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, mentoring and developing talent, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, and promoting a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with product management and business development teams to identify market trends, customer  needs, and competitive landscape, and translate them into hardware development strategies and roadmaps.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in EV charging technologies, industry standards, and regulatory  requirements, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and maintain technical leadership in the market.

Qualifications And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle  industry, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical expertise in power electronics, embedded systems, communication protocols, and hardware
  design principles.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and launching hardware products from concept to production, with a deep understanding of design for manufacturability and reliability.
• Strong technical skills and expertise in EV charging technology, including power electronics, battery management systems, and energy management systems.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, safety standards, and certifications related to EV charging systems, such as UL, IEC, ISO, and SAE.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of
  engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, propose effective solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and to manage multiple projects and priorities
  effectively.
• Strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering solutions that meet the
  evolving needs of the company’s customers.
