Job Description

The role of Sales in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business is a key leadership position responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales strategies, and managing the sales team.

Sales Strategy and Planning:-

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities, trends, and potential customers.
  • Sales Forecasting: Work with finance and operations teams to develop accurate sales forecasts.

Team Leadership:-

  • Sales Team Management: Lead and manage a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Goal Setting: Set and communicate sales targets and goals for the team.
  • Recruitment: Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of sales personnel as needed.

Client Relationship Management:-

  • Key Account Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and customers.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing solutions.
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements.

Business Development:-

  • New Market Entry: Identify and explore opportunities for market expansion and new customer acquisition.
  • Partnerships and Alliances: Collaborate with other businesses and partners to explore joint ventures and alliances.

Sales Operations:-

  • Sales Process Optimization: Continuously optimize sales processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the management of the sales pipeline and ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Market Intelligence:-

  • Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about competitor activities and market trends.
  • Adaptation: Adjust sales strategies based on market intelligence to maintain a competitive edge.

Sales Training and Development:-

  • Training Programs: Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team.
  • Professional Development: Encourage and support the professional development of sales personnel

Sales Reporting:-

  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales performance to senior management.

Company Overview:-

A business partnership born out of friendship and mutual respect in the 1920s between Shapoorji Mistry Sr. and Mehervan Daruvala, the latter’s company Wilson Electric Works served as an electrical contractor for Shapoorji Pallonji Construction, working on some of India’s biggest commercial and residential projects.
