Control Systems Engineering Manager GE Renewable Energy Noida, India Job Posted : May 16th, 2022 Job Description Responsible for leading a team that designs, develops, configuration and Verification of HVDC Control Automation System and Secondary Engineering and drive consistent design practices and common global processes for projects implementation. Essential Responsibilities:- As a Control Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for designs, develops, configuration and Verification of Control Automation System and LV Secondary Engineering, drive consistent design practices, common global processes for projects implementation and also provide technical solution that meets the project and Tender objectives. Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for HVDC control and protection system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modelling to design and control systems with desired behaviours. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems. Ensures that Protection systems are selected, engineered and packaged to meet a variety of applications and environments, taking into account efficiency of operation, reliability, maintainability, flexibility and total costs of ownership Works closely with internal and external customers to arrive at engineering specifications that optimise the commercial potential of new and existing products. Ensures that the available technologies and components are appropriately exploited in product design. Support and mentoring of less experienced team members and project engineers Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent. Responsible for providing direction and/or guidance to exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how HVDC control system integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Define the project work breakdown structure (WBS), resources and skill levels required to meet the delivery timescales Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues. Qualification And Experience:- Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business More than 10 years’ experience in HVDC industry including HVDC station equipment and design Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organisational risks Proven skills in managing and leading team with strong technical background Strong written and verbal communication skills, experienced in creating and presenting to other stake holders Experienced in Protection system design application and have strong problem solving skills Able to work to deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining the safety, quality and engineering integrity of the solution Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel globally Desired characteristics:- Knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as IEC 61850, IEC 62351, IEC 12207, IEEE 15288, IEC 25010, IEC 27032, NERC/CIP Process improvement or RCA experience or certification Ability to define requirements and ensure they adhere to best practice Experienced in technical leadership Experience working in HVDC industry Location:- Noida, India.
