Chief Project Engineer, Mechanical

Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for a Chief Project Engineer, Mechanical to manage mechanical discipline in Energy customer delivery projects starting the supporting the sales activities on own area of project until warranty end.

 Chief Project Engineer is responsible for the whole mechanical discipline or a defined part of the scope in project execution towards the Project Manager for the project, who is responsible for the whole project including all disciplines (electrical, mechanical, and civil parts). Chief Project Engineer in Engineering give the possibility to grow and develop in own special defined area of expertise.

Task is to maintain the scope of work on own area such as requirement collection, engineering phase, procurements of mechanical materials and services, logistic and support of installation and commissioning activities at site.
Participate in customer / stakeholder negotiations when needed and maintain good customer / stakeholder relationships.
Manage works under own responsibility area according to contract requirements together with internal team members and external vendors.
Plan the works with the total costs, schedule, quality, and customer needs in focus.

Responsibilities:-

• Safeguard that mechanical works are executed according to contract specifications and design directives as a member of a project team
• Make purchase specifications and bill of quantities as required for the project execution
• Make project specific design and design packages
• Co-ordinate the design between sub-suppliers
• Develop Power Plant project wise mechanical solution for the client
• Carry out sub-supplier quality- and delivery follow-ups
• Support our site team during installation and commission phases
• Give feedback regarding technical solutions and complaints
• Participate in development projects

Requirements:-

• BSc. or MSc. in Mechanical or Process Engineering
• Being self-going, having team working skills, motivation to learn and grow professionally and willingness to travel as well as ability to understand and work with diverse cultures
• Minimum 3 years of experience of mechanical project engineering
• Good command in English
• Negotiation and communication skills
• Teamwork skills
• Technical skills in mechanical engineering
