If you are a Professional Production Planning and Control expert, who are looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting role as Assistant Manager – Production Planning & Control (PPC) for Factory Automation business based in Mahindra world city, Chennai, India. In this position you will drive consistent, elite material practices that drive consistence and excellence across our Factory Automation Business.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:-

  • Drive local sourcing for cost optimization and delivery time improvement for accessory items such as panels, cables, cylinder accessories, and fittings.
  • Plan and manage quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules, ensuring effective forecast planning and material requirement alignment for book-to-ship orders.
  • Review scheduled sales orders, assess material availability and production capacity, and provide accurate promise dates. Release work orders accordingly.
  • Oversee the assembly of cylinders, valve terminals, and factory automation panels as per design specifications.
  • Review BOMs for valve terminal assemblies with a focus on cost and stock optimization.
  • Support local assembly operations for the AP partnering program related to valve manifold assemblies.
  • Manage local sub-assembly of AFAG handling systems and plan for the upcoming range of electrical gantry systems.
  • Implement effective planning strategies to support Cylinder & VTS CKD safety stock requirements.
  • Coordinate with design engineering teams during drawing preparation to develop optimized solutions.
  • Lead and resolve warranty-related issues for assembled and trading products.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team for work order issuance and with QC/QA teams to ensure timely product deliveries.
  • Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to determine supply, demand, and forecasts for factory automation products.
  • Develop and maintain the production planning release schedule in alignment with customer requirements and production targets.
  • Improve material and capacity planning processes to optimize inventory levels and manage excess & obsolete (E&O) provisions.
  • Maintain and communicate prospectus lead times.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, customer service, operations, and procurement teams to establish efficient processes for Ship-from-Stock and Assemble-to-Order products.
  • Analyze product trends and order mix to support site planning managers in identifying root causes of inventory or service issues.
  • Establish common metrics, data definitions, and business processes to enhance service levels, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency and ensure the right resources are allocated effectively.
  • Maintain and enhance systems and resources to achieve organizational objectives.

As a strategic partner, you will manage data, do analysis, discuss findings, and offer solutions. In a multicultural setting, you act as a reformer with outstanding influencing abilities at all organisational levels.

For This Role, You Will Need:-

  • Engineering with relevant planning and scheduling experience and a total experience of 10+ years.
  • Good knowledge on MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Basic Finance and Costing Knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be Proficient in ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:-

  • Bachelor or any equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or any related field.
