Assistant Manager – Mechanical Maintenance

This position is responsible to ensure improvement projects and effective up keep and maintenance of Tooling (Carcass drum, shaper drum, B&T Drum) and Material handling equipment (Manual and Power) at Halol plant to ensure maximum machine availability and minimum downtime on account of breakdown. The incumbent shall also lead the improvement projects at the plant relating to the function without compromising safety, quality and statutory requirements.

Key Performance Areas:-

• Improvement initiatives (New/breakthrough innovation, SPARSH , Kaizen, etc.)
• Hands on experience of improvement projects
• Machine alignment and machine tolerance check
• Adherence to project timeline
• Adherence to maintenance schedule and maintenance budget
• Reduction in repetitive breakdown occurrences (Hours and Instances)
• Reduction in cost of maintenance (Stores and spares and repair maintenance cost)
• Coordination with CFT
• Should have Exposure of SAP S4 HANA
• Enhancements/innovations done on machines
• Reduction in Accidents (Safety audits and HIRA etc.)
• Support to Autonomous maintenance initiatives
• Improve plant safety and environment
• Improve Technical capability

Key Activities  & Responsibilities:-

Improvement Activities:-

• Identify improvement projects that may be needed to improve machine performance and contribute to better product quality
• Make Project charter and contribute to successful completion of capex/projects
• Ensure all maintenance related jobs for any major plant wide improvement projects / capex projects are completed in time – such as new machine installation, replacement, etc.
• Hands on experience of improvement projects
• Establish protocols for trial runs, start up in case of new machinery, etc.
• Encourage and ensure innovations aimed at enhancing equipment life and reduction of costs
• Participate in major improvement project identification and execution shared with other departments
• Drive special initiatives and projects such as QIP’s and Kaizen for the function

Planning & Budgeting:-

• Plan the annual maintenance schedule and activities for the department
• Participate in preparation of the annual maintenance budget by providing inputs for the department
• Participate in planning any major capex investments at the plant such as machine and equipment replacement, major repairs to machinery, etc.
• Provide inputs for the procurement plan for mechanical sections covering requirement for consumables, spare parts, maintenance supplies and tools
